OREGON BUBBLES you’re about to see on every major wine list across America @lytlebarnett

I’ll say it. I’m a snob when it comes to sparkling outside of Champagne. I know I know, there are great examples of Champagne Method sparklers found all over the world. But few have impressed me the way that Lytle Barnett has. Like many of you I’m sure, I’m all in on the chards and pinots from Oregon. So it’s no surprise i was fairly keen to try a high quality sparkling wine like this one made from the best Oregon has to offer. LB enlisted Oregon sparkling guru Andrew Davis Ad winemaker and the South African sparking legend Pieter Ferreira to consult inspiring this tiny production, vintage specific bubbles project. Naturally, my curiosity was piqued, but my expectations were fairly high.

I’ve tasted through their full lineup of Brut, Blanc de Noirs, Blanc de Blancs, and Rose - and I have to say, I am blown away. This is for sure among the finest sparkling wines being produced in the US and something I’m quite certain wine directors and sommelier’s should and will be seeking out for their lists. It drinks as classically and purely as grower champagne, with all the signature of Oregon. All show gorgeous savory tones, texture, nuance, and finesse. The mousse alone on these wines is enough to bring me to tears. Tiny bubbles that mark the handiwork of a true craftsmen bring vibrancy and life to what would certainly be delicious still wines. I’ve enjoyed it alone, I’ve enjoyed it with food - and the best compliment I can give it, is the wines were ethereal both ways.
